The Caledyne Mechanical Isolation Valve is a mechanically actuated bi-directional downhole barrier ball valve, which may be used to isolate the formation during installation of the upper completion or other such operations.
Bi-directional seal acts as a down hole barrier
Optimised design to reduce part count and complexity.
Unlimited open or close cycles.
Forces due to pressure differentials across the ball do not affect the open/close mechanism.
Smooth internal bore with a minimal number of locations for debris to collect.
Internal equalising mechanism across the ball allows for reduced loads to open the ball under high differential pressures.
Equalising feature operates across the ball and does not equalise to the annulus, therefore the MIV may be run above a packer.
- Formation isolation when installing the upper completion.
- Packer setting valve.
The MIV is qualified to ISO 28781.For further details of our test programme please contact your nearest Caledyne representative.
