The Caledyne Balance Pump is a hydraulically actuated reciprocating low volume pump, which may be used to remove water from gas producing wells. The pump is operated by two hydraulic lines, one oil filled, the other water filled. At the pump, the differential hydrostatic pressure between the water and oil acts to move the internal piston downwards. Application of pressure to the oil line drives the piston upwards, lifting the water trapped above the travelling check and drawing water into the lower chamber.
